Walsham-le-Willows won by 72 runs

 

St Osyth lost out by 72 runs against Division 7 champions Walsham-le-Willows, who

As a result of this win finished the season undefeated.

 

 

The Suffolk side batted first and got a formidable start with Liam Bryant and Steve Owston

Notching up their second century stand against Toosey this season. They rattled up 171 in 30 overs

With Bryant out just 5 short of a century. Owston followed a few overs later also just shy of a ton

in scoring 92. The St Osyth bowlers toiled hard with Scott Fraser bowling a 15- over spell, picking up 2 wickets as Walsham totalled 243-4.

 

St Osyth made a concerted effort to chase the total, but lost early wickets and at 58-3 brothers Sam and Alex Hennessy looked to revive the innings. Both batted well again, and added 82 in 16 overs giving Toosey an outside chance, but with the score at 140, Alex was out for 30 followed 2 runs later by Sam for 55, and from that point, the St Osyth innings completely disintegrated as 5 wickets went for 4 runs.

Although some handy runs were added at the end, St Osyth’s efforts concluded on 171.
